NAME 19
Yogavidāṁnetā योगविदांनेता
The knowers of yoga always stay connected with the Brahman. Their individual consciousness no longer exists and stands merged with His Cosmic Consciousness. They are known as yogavid-s. As such yogavid-s stand eternally connected with Him, He takes care of them. Kṛṣṇa beautifully explains this in Bhagavad Gita (IV.22).

“The devotees who constantly think of Me, and worship Me, thinking of nothing else, I take care of them and personally attend to all their needs”. The Brahman not only wants men to surrender unto Him to absolve themselves from the pains of birth and death, but also assures them that He will take care of all their needs and protect them personally. This is a stage where devotion for the Lord dissolves and sprouts as love for Him. Liberation cannot be attained through devotion, but only through love. When the time is ripe, this transformation automatically happens within.

19. Om YogavidāṁNetray Namah
Yoga-vidaamnetaa –One who guides (“neta”) all the activities of all men ‘who knows yoga’ (Yogaviti) .To all men of realization, He who is the Ideal, is the Supreme Lord. Just as our activities are today ordered by our selfishness and individuality, the Ideal that commands and orders all activities in the bosom of a Man of Realization is his God-Consciousness. This realm of experience is Mahaa Vishnu. In the Geeta also we find the same idea expressed, in the language of emotion, when the Lord says: “Those who contemplate upon Me with total dedication, their daily welfare and spiritual progress I shall bear”.
INTERPRETATION GUIDED BY SANT VANI (WORDS OF SAINTS)
Yogavidāmnetā
The leader of those, who know yoga.
The Lord is also called Yogavidāmnetā, the leader of the yogavids, that is, those who know
yoga. Generally yoga is used in the sense of the means of accomplishing something and also in the sense of making oneself fit for gaining nowledge. In the explanation of the previous nāma, yoga meant the identity of the jīva and Īśvara. The kṣetrajna-paramātma-aikya is the yoga. So
yogamvidanti, vicārayanti, jānantiitiyogavit–those who know this yoga or do vichāra, enquiry to gain the knowledge of the oneness and remove this false division between the seeker and sought, are the yogavids. The Lord is teṣāmnetā their leader.
How does he become the leader? He is the one who takes care of the yoga and kṣema of the jñānīs, because they themselves do not work for it. Here yoga is gaining what one does not have
and kṣema is retaining that which is gained. A leader has people who willingly surrender to his laws and principles. In the very recognition of the jñānam, a jnānī has total surrender to Iśvara.
The Lord through the law of karma, takes care of the jñānī. Sri Kriṣhṇa says in the Gitā, ‘For those who are always one with me, I take care of what they need
to acquire and protect.’ (Bhagavat Gita 9.22). Interestingly, LIC (India’s largest life insurance company) makes this claim (yogakṣemamvahāmyaham) and also has it on their logo. Practically speaking, they have their utility. Really speaking, the Lord is the only life insurance provider in all ways, not only in this lifetime, but also in all lifetimes and helping one to break the cycle too! He alone brings love and compassion within a heart that surrenders to the Supreme Leader. True transformation comes from Seeking this knowledge, not a mere confirmation of information and that’s why most experiences remain informational not transformational. True transformation leading to liberation can only happen by absolute surrender and following the path lead by the Lord who is the ultimate Yogi.
The jnānī is yadrcchā-lābha-santuṣṭa – the one who is happy with whatever is available to him which is nothing but prārabdha- karma and prarabdha-karma is non-separate from Iśvara. So, by way of making them gain what they do not have and retaining what they have gained, whatever is essential for their śharīradhārana, He is their netā.
As the giver of the yoga, both karma and jnāna-yogas, He is Yogavidāmnetā, the leader of the knowers of yoga.
